Step into the nostalgic world of the 1950s with the upcoming local high school production of “Bye Bye Birdie”! Get ready to be transported back to a time of poodle skirts, slicked-back hair, and rock ‘n’ roll frenzy as the talented students of Pymatuning Valley High School take the stage to bring this beloved musical to life. Director Taylor Brown returns many of the talented cast members from their 2023 hit “The Music Man” for weekend of March 8-10 in Andover.

Set in Sweet Apple, Ohio, “Bye Bye Birdie” tells the story of Conrad Birdie, a rock ‘n’ roll superstar who gets drafted into the army. His agent, Albert Peterson, and Albert’s faithful secretary, Rosie Alvarez, come up with a publicity stunt to have Conrad give “One Last Kiss” to a lucky fan on live television before he heads off to boot camp. Chaos ensues as the residents of Sweet Apple prepare for Conrad’s arrival, and teenage girls swoon over the heartthrob singer.
